Sharna Burcher is one of those rare artists who understands and continues to stay true to the roots of country music” – award winning singer-songwriter Bill Chambers

SINGER-songwriter Sharna Burcher draws her musical inspiration from life experiences and ideas that filter through from her subconscious. Having grown up on country music, her influences have ranged from Slim Dusty to Loretta Lynn to Tammy Wynette and, more recently, from Kasey Chambers to US folk singer Lori McKenna.

Her musician father gave her the inspiration to take the stage for the first time when she sang the Slim Dusty classic, Duncan, as a five-year-old.

Burcher was drawn to country by the honesty of the lyrics and captivated by Kasey Chambers’ songwriting, which enticed her to put pen to paper and craft original songs.

Graduating from the CMAA Academy of Country Music senior course in 2016, Sharna was already sure of her path in the music business, after recording an album, Livin’ On Closing Time, with award-winning artist Bill Chambers in 2013. Burcher has opened for Chambers, along with Aleyce Simmonds, Catherine Britt and Fanny Lumsden and, in February 2018, played the Silverton Sunset Festival.

Burchers latest album Backwards Town is set to be released in 2021 with the first single released in October 2020 followed by her second single in April 2021
